홍콩 일간지 사우스차이나모닝포스트(SCMP)는 26일 “중국 광동성의 말레이시아계 직접판매 회사 퍼펙트(Perfect Company)의 중국법인 직원들로 이루어진 단체관광객이 21일 미국 로스앤젤레스(LA)에 도착했다”고 전했다. 퍼펙트 컴퍼니는 예전부터 판매 사원들을 캐나다, 호주, 태국, 말레이시아, 홍콩 등으로 자유 여행을 보내준 것으로 알려졌다.
퍼펙트사(社) 직원들의 이번 여행을 기획한 중국 국여국제회의전람유한공사(CTIS)에 따르면 6,000여 명의 중국 관광객들은 쇼핑이나 관람 등 관심사에 따라 수백개의 소규모 그룹으로 나뉘어 여행을 하게 된다.
지난 21일 첫번째로 도착한 그룹은 LA 코스타메사시(市)에 위치한 쇼핑몰 사우스 코스트 플라자(South Coast Plaza)에서 쇼핑을 즐기며 엄청난 돈을 썼다고 SCMP는 전했다. 해당 쇼핑몰에서는 중국 관광객들을 접대하기 위해 고위 간부들까지 동원한 것으로 전해졌다. 미국의 비영리 반(半)관영 여행조합인 브랜드 USA(Brand USA)도 여행자들이 공항 및 지역 여행사들과 연락하는 것을 도왔다.
관광객들은 5월 27일 오렌지카운티에서 세미나와 연회에 참여하고 퍼펙트사의 CEO를 만날 예정이다.

Chairman Tan Sri Dato' KOO YUEN KIM D.P.T.J.J.P
As a Malaysian Chinese entrepreneur, the Chairman of Perfect (China) Co., Ltd. Tan Sri Dato' KOO YUEN KIM D.P.T.J.J.P is a well-known figure in both the Malaysia business world and Malaysian Chinese community.
